ZBTOS was developed by Darrin Devereaux from the work of carrying transformation mandates across industries since 2004, then formalized at ETEGY as a repeatable operating system for enterprise transformation. The same question kept going unanswered on those mandates: did the operating model actually change, or did the projects merely finish?

The name

ETEGY is a contraction of executing strategy.

The firm began from a plain observation: smart strategies fail when organizations cannot execute them. Which makes transformation the mechanism rather than the point — the work of changing the operating system so strategic intent can become operating reality.

ZBTOS is that mechanism, made explicit and teachable. The doctrine, the lifecycle and the instruments are what ETEGY uses in the work. They are published so your people can run them without us.

A method kept private is a dependency.
You can read this one before you commit to it.

The doctrine, the lifecycle, the instruments and the vocabulary are all published. Test them against your own operating model, decide whether they hold, and keep the capability once it is in your people’s hands.

Foundation and the Practitioner Intensive transfer the method, with the instruments issued to the people who will run them. The capability stays when the engagement ends.
