Checklist 05 · Evidence Sufficiency

The claim is ready for the room.
Is the evidence?

Run this against one claim at a time before it is presented. Reported is not proven.

Tick what already holds. Everything left becomes a numbered work plan you can assign and print.

Why it matters

"Improved" cannot be checked. A named state can be checked, which is the whole point.

What to do

Restate the claim as a specific condition with a value or threshold.

Why it matters

Evidence without dates cannot establish that the change followed the intervention.

What to do

Attach the underlying record and its date to each claim in the pack.

Why it matters

Self-reported evidence is the weakest form and the first thing a sceptic attacks.

What to do

Find a second source for each material claim, or mark it as self-reported.

Why it matters

Measurement designed after the outcome tends to measure the outcome you got.

What to do

Show the measurement definition with a date preceding the result period.

Why it matters

Changing the method mid-stream produces improvement that is entirely methodological.

What to do

Document both measurement methods side by side and reconcile any difference.

Why it matters

Measuring a clean subset and claiming the whole is the most common quiet overstatement.

What to do

State the measured population and the claimed population explicitly. If they differ, say so.

Why it matters

Unnamed exclusions are indistinguishable from cherry-picking, however innocent the reason.

What to do

List every exclusion with its rationale and its size.

Why it matters

Limits discovered by the audience are far more damaging than limits you declared.

What to do

Add a one-line scope limit to the claim itself, not a footnote.

Why it matters

If the record cannot be found, the claim rests on trust, and trust is not proof.

What to do

Include a reference path to the source record for every claim.
